The Minister of State for Defense of Yu Jing, has eight armies spread throughout the territory, that are identified thanks to the characteristic standard that each one carries. For this reason these armies are known generically as Zhanshi Qízhì, Troops of the Standard.

The Zhanshi are the pillars of the army, the main general purpose troops. They participate in joint actions and in offensive operations like regular troops. They also make up the defensive garrisons of the cities and frontier posts. One of the Zhanshi characteristics is the importance that they give to hand to hand combat, much more so than any other regular army.
