Who Are We?

ScifiGenre.com was started by Mark Garbrick and JJ Bedell, two avid fans of science fiction, fantasy, comics, and gaming who also happen to be software developers. We are located in North Carolina.

Why shop at Sci-fi Genre?

At the same time that we're avid fans of all sorts of geeky entertainment, we're also software developers. This fortuitous combination of interests recently collided with our intense frustration with the state of comics and gaming stores on the web. The resultant *bang* produced the Sci-fi Genre Shop.

Most of the retailers offering our products online are brick-and-mortar stores who have decided to make a few extra bucks by opening a web site "on the side." Their sites are slapped together and difficult to navigate. Their online customer service is an after-thought. For that matter, each site tends to offer only a narrow niche of products. Heaven forbid you should be interested in RPGs AND action figures, or new comics AND DVDs, and want to buy them at the same shop, rather than wading your way through two of those sites.

ScifiGenre.com exists solely as an internet business. Our internet customers aren't our side interest: they're our only focus. We live and die by our online customer support and our site's ease of use. Secondly, we are our own development team. Together, we have written every single line of the code that runs this site. It's easy for us to make changes to suit our customers. If you run into something that confuses you, or if you can think of a way to make the site easier to use, e-mail us. We will implement your suggestions, and we will do it right away. Finally, we are fans. We are keeping up with the genres that are important to you. We're dedicated to having an amazingly large selection and to being the first site to offer new releases at a good discount.
